Sales Development Representative
About us
Letterdrop is a YC-backed seed stage startup.
We help technology companies with quite literally their most important priority: generating more revenue (this makes it much easier to sell than many products).
This is kind of crazy: our customers often tell us our price is too low because of how much value they’re getting. You can see them talk about it here: Virtuous, PawaPay, Disco, Crossbeam.
If you know in your bones that you’d be great at sales (you’re smart, ambitious, and very hard working) and are looking for the right scrappy environment where you’ll be taught everything you need to know to be successful, we want to talk to you.
And btw, our sales process already works. We have everything documented so you’ll be able to get up to speed fast. And most entry level sales roles SUCK because they’re so manual (we’ve automated SO many of the things that other companies make their teams do manually so you can spend all your time on the most interesting work of talking to customers).
You’ll be working closely with me, the CEO and Ryan, our founding AE. You’ll also get to learn from Isaiah, our sales advisor, who is hands down one of the best sellers I’ve met and took Tropic from $1M as first AE to $xxM as CRO.
About you
- You are a high potential recent grad OR someone who wants to change careers and get into sales (we love both profiles)
- You are really driven, you want a lot out of your professional life
- You just make things happen, you find a way to be successful in whatever you do
- You enjoy, and are good at learning new things
- You are straight up smart
- You are great at connecting with different kinds of people
- You believe in the Letterdrop approach to GTM with social selling
Who is this for?
Someone who wants to get into sales and just KNOWS in their bones they can be successful at it. We have (1) a sales process that already works and (2) the ability to coach you really well, we just need someone who wants to work really hard to help us grow this company! If you do a great job, you’ll get promoted and do really well from a compensation perspective.
Who is this not a fit for?
- You can’t work hard right now. If you have big priorities that would limit your work to strictly 9-5, it won’t be the right fit for you.
- You don’t have the drive and aptitude to learn to sell at an actually world class level.
If the above makes you even more excited, let’s definitely talk. And if it’s not a fit, we appreciate you giving it a look anyway.
What will you do?
- Most entry level sales roles suck because they require a ton of manual work, clicking pointless buttons, wasting time
- But we are very good at automating that manual work
- So in this job you will spend the VAST majority of your time actually selling
- You’ll make lots of cold calls (a great way to learn to sell), post on LinkedIn 3x/week to educate the market and build trust, send personalized video DMs, attend events in New York, send some emails, and anything else creative or innovative you want to try
- Become a public expert in our space to bring leads to you using Letterdrop
- Build relationships with CMOs, Heads of Demand Gen, and RevOps
How to apply?
- Practice the job starting now.
- At the very least, send me a 1 min video (using Loom or any other tool) pitching why you’re the right candidate for us. I receive 50 applicants with ChatGPT messages everyday that I don’t look at. Stand out. You can find me here on LinkedIn. My number is (Six Five Zero) 741-3728.
- Prospect into me. You can call, email, LinkedIn; do whatever to grab my attention.
Requirements
- Located or willing to move to New York City
- Can get familiar with how revenue teams operate fast: Sales, RevOps, Marketing
- Bachelor’s degree (but if you don’t have one and are confident you’re still a fit, that’s fine)
